Scaynes Hill Village Day
posted: Sun 20 Jun 10

Well, after threatening showers amid the summer sun, the Scaynes Hill Village Day, held in the grounds of The Farmers Inn, proved to be as successful (if not more so) as last year's event. Thanks to Graham Thompson for booking the band for the evening session inside. Here, a good crowd braved the expanse of floor to dance to the band's vibrant set, rounding off the day to perfection. All in a good cause, we hope the final total of funds raised is beyond expectation!

Summer season continues.....

The band have been busy since our gig at Shane's bash. More weddings and a great night at The Brunswick in Hove last night, where the strict 11.00 p.m.curfew on music prevented any response to an outbreak of encores, demanded by the vibrant audience,(who had already danced the night away). Playing a rare public gig, in front of our Brighton fan base, was good for the band also, who relaxed into some fine playing over the course of the evening. Also, it was a useful vehicle for 'testing the water' with some of our new material, that was enthusiastically received.

Our next public performance is our return to the Scaynes Hill Village Day on 19th June, where we hope to perfectly round off the day at The Farmers Inn, once again hosting the day's event in aid of a number of worthwhile charities and causes. If you're in the area, get along there. The band will be playing from around 8.30 p.m.

A great night at the Surrey Hills Hotel yesterday at Shane Richie's function, in honour of Jacqui, his mother-in-law's, 60th birthday.

As could only be expected, Shane took to the stage with the band during their second set, with some rousing vocals alongside Chas. Shane sang his way through 'She Loves You', 'I Saw Her Standing There', A Hard Day's Night', Have I The Right?', 'Can't Buy Me Love', Do You Want to Dance?', Glad All Over" and 'Here Comes My Baby'.

Shane returns to the East Enders soap as the likeable rogue, Alfie Moon, in a few week's time. Thanks to Shane and his lovely wife, Christie, for inviting us!

Ronald emailed to say "Thanks to you and your fabulous guys for the fantastic performance last night. As I said it will be a pleasure having you here again.."
